Specifications: WHERE TO USE
Interior surfaces including Trim, Doors, Molding, Cabinets, Baseboards, Furniture, Windows, Picture Frames, Lamps, Curved or Rounded Objects and Decorative Metalwork. Not recommended for walls.
PREPARATION*
If using an existing latex base color, the surface must be clean and sound.
On metal surfaces, remove all rust with a wire brush.
If applying a new base color, use BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® Interior Flat, Flat Enamel, Eggshell Enamel or Satin Enamel following label instructions.
Allow to dry 4 hours. Additional time required in cooler temperatures and in higher humidity.
APPLICATION
Refer to the BEHR® Faux Accents Colors & Techniques Guide and www.behr.com for additional instructions on application.
Stir product occasionally. Once the base color is dry, apply a generous coat of BEHR CRACKLE using a nylon/polyester brush or high quality 1/4" synthetic nap roller.
When completely dry, approximately 1 hour, apply the desired BEHR PREMIUM PLUS Interior Flat Paint color. The top color will begin to crack as it dries, moments after it is applied.
Do not reapply over previously painted areas once the cracking begins.
After the top color has cured 24 hours, apply BEHR CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER-BASED POLYURETHANE NO. 780 for added durability and protection.
Use product when the surface and air temperatures are between 50-90°F (10-32°C). For best results, apply at 50% humidity or less. Typical coverage is 100-150 sq. ft. (9-14 sq. meters) per quart on smooth sealed surfaces.
DRY TIME
BEHR CRACKLE dries to be topcoated in approximately 1 hour at 75°F (23°C) and 50% humidity.
Allow top color to dry approximately 24 hours. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and higher humidity.
After 4 weeks, the surface is fully cured and may be carefully cleaned with a mild, non-abrasive liquid detergent.
